Recently named “2009 Best Personal Stylists” by Minnesota Monthly Magazine, Corset Personal Styling knows that the pantyhose issue is a hot button for professional women – “to hose or not to hose” is truly a big question. While women in the media (like Heather Locklear on “Melrose Place”) have made heading to work sans pantyhose okay for many women, there are still workplaces that require a more covered-up approach. Those of us in colder climates have an easier time because we can wear tights with high boots and pumps well into spring and early fall. For warmer climates and summer months when hosiery is required at work, Corset Stylists suggest patterns or the sheerest of sheer. Here are a few more recommendations from the wardrobe experts at Corset Personal Styling:
• High Kicking Fashion -- Take advantage of the many fashion options available today in hosiery – e.g., pair Donna Karan chevron textured hosiery with a conservative suit for a little personality – (the chevron design more conservative than a fishnet, yet textured enough to let air in to keep you cool)
• Basic Black -- If you’re going to wear basic black pantyhose, try something with a pattern rather than just sheer…one snag and you’re look immediately cheapens
• Sheer Bliss – tap the sheerest of sheer pantyhose for a barely there look. Hanes offers an Absolutely Ultra Sheer collection.
• Get Color – explore pantyhose in trend colors (cobalt blue, deep plum) and match to your shoe; this monotone look will give you a polished style and elongated leg without emphasizing that you’re wearing nylons
• Forget the Flesh – avoid making a shocking pantyhose statement with odd shades of brown; run from white or fleshtones that don’t match your natural skin tone
