Fashion Tips & Advice: The Recurring Revival of Animal Prints
Animal prints reappear as a fashion trend often, which means it’s a style staple that’s here to stay. A) It’s a solid investment piece for years to come, B) It can be worn by almost everyone. So if you're on the prowl for a new classic cheetah print blouse or considering breathing new life into that leopard print skirt you just couldn't toss years back (smart move by the way), these wild patterns are sure to call attention wherever you go. Ensure it’s the right attention by following these few basic tips from Corset Stylists:
- Scale the pattern to your size. Tighter prints like cheetah and leopard look better on most people than a larger scale pattern with white space in them (ie. a giraffe or cow print).
- Balance the busy pattern with neutrals. Black, khaki, cream and white are great options to wear opposite your print.
- Make sure the animal print wears where your best features are. If you’re top heavy, wear prints on your lower half and visa-versa if you’re bottom heavy. If you have a small waist, wear an animal print belt. Avoid animal print on areas you wish to camouflage.
- Hesitant to wear the busy patterns as a top or bottom? Start off small with accessories - an animal print bracelet, handbag, belt, scarf or shoe adds a pop of excitement to any look. Just make sure your clothing is neutral and solid for balance.
