Red Carpet Ready Right Now
With red carpet award season underway and the media abuzz about inaugural fashions, it’s hard not to want to dive into the new spring styles now hitting the stores. For those of us who live in “bundle up” climates, the Corset stylists say you can still rock the new spring looks right now if you pair them with transitional pieces that help fend off the cold. Here are a few tips for getting a jump on bright, cheery spring pieces that you can work into your wardrobe right now:
Layer in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. There’s a bitter wind blowing off that frigid water. Heat up your look with great cotton, long-sleeved pieces that provide stylish warmth under a new cotton spring blouse. Corset offers a “sexy turtleneck” in black, purple and teal that provides a cozy neckline with some panache that will look fresh off the runway, not the ski hill.
Button in Brooklyn. The right outer piece can pair nicely with fresh spring looks. Bypass wintry wool jackets or bulky sweaters for a softer knit cardigan or cotton jacket for an extra layer that is a lighter weight and won’t overpower the blouse. When the mercury rises, opt for a bright tank or cami under a blouse and break those arms out of the jackets.
Sleeveless in Seattle. Until the spring thaw, get your hands on a funky short-sleeve jacket. Tap a lighter weight long sleeved tee, patterned blouse, or the year round fave – a crisp white blouse to see you through until tank top season. Experiment with belts around a buttoned jacket and layering piece for a sophisticated style.
